Edwards County Receives Federal Grant to Replace Police Car
WASHINGTON – Congressman John Shimkus (R, Illinois-15) announced today that Edwards County was awarded a USDA Rural Development grant of $21,900.
The funds will be used toward the purchase of a new vehicle for the Sheriff's Department. This is a replacement vehicle, and will save the county considerable money on maintenance costs.
“I congratulate Edwards County on their successful grant application,” Shimkus said. “Grants from the USDA make necessary development and public safety projects possible for rural communities. My office can assist with rural development grants as well as any other federal grant program application.”
